The adopted Savoyard, Benoit Cosnefroy, managed to clinch a good second place in the general classification of the Circuit de la Sarthe. The AG2R Citroën puncher took advantage of the last stage to move up the standings.
A rise due to a fall that occurred four kilometers from the finish. On a wet road and with gusty winds, the peloton, which was in a small group after a grueling race, had just come back on the last breakaways. That’s when race leader Mads Pedersen (Trek-Segafredo) went to the mat.
Ninth overall before the start of this fourth stage, the young Dutchman Olav Kooij (Jumbo Visma) took the margin on the peloton to impose himself and win the event. Xandro Meurisse (Alpecin-Fenix) completes the overall podium.
