Ergonomics
In terms of construction, the design is rather elaborate, even if the materials used are not as high-end as those of the MX Masters. The plastic is smooth overall, except on the sides where a raised rubbery coating has been affixed for better grip.
The coating prevents fingers from slipping.
The mouse is not part of Logitech’s ergonomic range, but we feel efforts on this side. The edges have a shape with pronounced curves, offering a good welcome for the thumb. On the other hand, the symmetrical design is not the most pleasant for the opposite fingers (little and middle fingers in particular) which do not really benefit from this curve. We thus prefer the shape of the MX Master which fits better in the hand, but which is also more imposing.
Taking into palm grip is ideal.
We tested the mouse in size L (41.5 x 65.6 x 118 mm for 111 g – with the battery). It is therefore not the lightest, which is not necessarily very important in office automation. The supplied battery should offer an autonomy of about 2 years, which will depend on the uses.
This is located under the mouse cover, next to the housing for the Logibolt, the brand’s small wireless receiver which is gradually replacing the dongle Unifying. You can indeed connect the mouse to your computer via this receiver or via Bluetooth. The pads under the mouse are also made of PTFE and therefore ensure a smooth glide.
In total, the Signature M650 has 5 buttons. The two main clicks are perfectly silent, which is one of the strengths of the mouse so as not to disturb its neighbors in an open space. There are two secondary clicks on the thumb and a click on the wheel.
The grip is good, but not perfect.
The latter benefits from SmartWheel technology which offers a very slightly notched scrolling, but smooth if you want to go faster. On the other hand, it is not completely free, unlike the MagSpeed of the MX Master 3, but this hybrid solution is interesting and avoids having to press somewhere to select the notched mode or the free mode. It is also very quiet as well.

Conclusion
How does grading work?
The Signature M650 is a good wireless mouse which has the advantage of being perfectly silent. It is pleasant to use and has some practical features, but not as advanced as those of the MX Masters, which are admittedly more upscale. Its battery and its enormous autonomy are also assets. We simply regret the lack of multi-device connection available on other models, but the quality/price ratio turns out to be very interesting in the end.
