Emmanuel Macronthe president-candidate for his re-election, arrived at the foot of Strasbourg Cathedral shortly before 8 p.m., accompanied by the Alsatian minister Brigitte Klinkert. It was the former mayor of Strasbourg Roland Ries, an ex-socialist who rallied from the start to the macronie, who welcomed him on the stage. A right-wing centrist and a social democrat, quite a symbol.
A stage placed in the middle of the crowd, a large screen, flags, between the Rohan palace and the cathedral. The meeting is presented as a rally but it is clearly a rally with around 2,000 people, European flags, tricolor T-shirts and even a Ukrainian flag. There are many activists and elected officials from all over Alsace.
