More than 300 organizations are calling to come together on Saturday April 9, in Paris and across France, “to make the next five years those of justice, climate, equality and peace”. On the eve of the first round of the presidential election, this demonstration aims to mobilize voters so that these issues are taken into account.
“It’s up to us to write history”
“They want us to believe that history has already been written. But it’s up to us to write it. On April 9, the day before the first round, we will gather in the hundreds of thousands. (…) To finally find ourselves and carry our values loud and clear, those of the world of tomorrow. We won’t wait another 5 years to build it,” say the organizers.
Among the participants, we find Emmaüs France, the Abbé Pierre Foundation, CARE France, Secours Catholique, Greenpeace, France Nature Environnement, Friends of the Earth, Alternatiba, #NousToutes, Dare Feminism, Oxfam France and Attac. Unions and collectives of caregivers, students and high school students, teachers, or retirees will join the marches.
Marches, around a hundred, are organized in the capital and in Ile-de-France, but also everywhere in the region. The appointment is made in the main French cities. In the East, fashion shows will take place in Strasbourg, Colmar, Mulhouse, Metz, Nancy, Reims, Besançon, in Lyon and its region, Saint-Etienne, Grenoble, Beaune… More info on marche9avril.fr.
